Backup and security

Data backup and cybersecurity for CAD and BIM projects.

A mistake, hardware failure or ransomware attack can make drawings and client records unavailable. novoSYS helps architecture firms organise data backups, access protection and recovery planning. Restore tests check that recovered project files can actually be used again.

Multi-layer backup

Versioning, external backups, ransomware protection and regular restore tests.

Secure access

MFA, roles, permissions, device security and controlled external sharing.

Monitoring and processes

Early alerts, clear responsibilities and documented emergency procedures.

From backup to a usable recovery

A successful backup notification does not tell you how quickly a team can resume work after an outage. We therefore also consider the restart process.

  • Limit data loss: define how much project work can be lost in an incident and how often backups are needed.
  • Plan the restart: prioritise which projects, systems and access must be restored first and who coordinates recovery.
  • Test recovery: restore selected project files, open them and document the outcome, including dependencies and permissions.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Microsoft 365 versioning enough as a backup?

Versioning helps, but does not always replace a separate backup. Recovery objectives, retention and protection against errors or attacks matter.

How often should backups be tested?

Restore tests should take place regularly and after major changes so recovery works when needed.

What does IT security for an architecture practice include?

MFA, patch management, endpoint protection, clear permissions, backup, awareness, monitoring and documented processes.

IT that works for architects every day.

novoSYS combines support, cloud, networking, telephony, backup and security with an understanding of CAD workflows.

What we cover in the first consultation

To tailor our recommendation to your practice, we discuss your team’s workflows and existing IT. The following information helps:

  • Number of workstations, office locations and the Archicad or Vectorworks versions in use.
  • Current project storage, external access and recurring issues.
  • Existing backup solution, desired recovery times and planned changes.
